We are currently recruiting a motivated and ambitious graduate to work on the Company's automated platform and new drug development programmes.  This will be predominantly a laboratory-based role.

In this position, your main responsibilities are to learn and then perform technical tasks such as solid phase peptide synthesis, protein expression and purification, enzymatic biotransformations and LC/MS analysis.  Training is available in all these areas.

You must be currently eligible to work in the UK, either by holding UK citizenship, a work permit or evidence of pre-settled status.

Job Description

The Role

A graduate scientist is sought to work on the Company's automated platform and new drug development programmes.  This will be a predominantly laboratory-based role.  In this position, your main responsibilities will be to learn and then perform technical tasks such as solid phase peptide synthesis, protein exprsssion and purificaiton, enzymatic biotransformations and LC/MS analysis.  Training is available in all these areas.

The Requirements

You must be currently eligible to work in the UK, either by holding UK citizenship, a work permit or evidence of pre-settled status.

An undergraduate degree in an appropriate chemical or biochemical subject is expected, but consideration will also be given to applicants who have acquired the necessary experience within industry, particularly within drug discovery. 

Desirable previous experience might include:

synthesis and analysis of peptides using solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), and the use of HPLC and LC/MS

and/or

molecular biology, protein expression and purification

Key additional attributes include:

  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team that focuses unequivocally on data generation;
  • Ability to closely follow protocols;
  • Good record keeping, organisational and time management;
  • Good problem solving skills;
